The Beauty of December Lies in Its Still Waters
Why do we rush through your days, trying to fit everything in: deadlines, shopping lists, holiday plans, and resolutions we didn’t quite keep. Lets unpack this
Hey my curious pips! 😊
Lemmie share what i was feeling towards the end of November, if you like it share it and subscribe for more.
December always feels like a race, doesn’t it? The finish line looms ahead, and suddenly, there’s an overwhelming pressure to do it all.
To tie up loose ends, meet long-forgotten resolutions, and cram every last goal into the dwindling days of the year.
But what if December isn’t meant to be a finish line?
What if it’s a season to pause, breathe, and reflect—not sprint?
This month, I’ve been thinking about the pace we set for ourselves and how it often misses the point.
December isn’t about proving something to yourself or the world. It’s about honoring the journey you’ve been on and embracing the moment you’re in.
A Gentle Reminder From December
There’s something magical about December that gets lost in the rush. The twinkling lights, the cozy evenings, the chance to reflect on how far you’ve come.
These moments whisper, “Slow down. Be here.”
This year, I’ve decided to listen. I’ve decided to stop treating December like a deadline and start treating it like a gift.
December is teaching me to:
- Celebrate the progress I’ve made, no matter how small.
- Let go of the need to “finish strong” and instead finish meaningfully.
- Find beauty in the present instead of chasing what’s next.
When I pause to really notice the little things—a kind message from a friend, the sound of laughter in my home, the quiet moments with a warm drink—I realize that this is the magic of the season.
Slowing Down to Move Forward
We often think slowing down means falling behind. But what if it’s the opposite? What if slowing down is the only way to truly move forward?
When I reflect on this year, the moments that stand out aren’t the ones where I was hustling or rushing.
They’re the moments where I was fully present. The times when I let go of the pressure to be perfect and simply let myself be.
So, here’s what I’m doing this December:
- I’m focusing on connection over productivity.
- I’m giving myself permission to rest.
- I’m choosing to savor this moment instead of scrambling to meet arbitrary goals.
Because here’s the truth: Success doesn’t come from racing to the finish. It comes from showing up for the moments that matter.
To You, This December
If you’re feeling the pull to hustle harder this month, let me offer a different perspective: What if you don’t have to finish it all? What if you don’t have to “catch up”?
What if you gave yourself the gift of slowing down?
Let December be a season to reflect, recharge, and celebrate how far you’ve come. Let it be a time to notice the small joys, the quiet victories, and the beauty of simply being here.
As the year winds down, remember this: The present moment isn’t a stop on the way to something better. It is the something better.
Happy December.
Let’s breathe in its magic together. ☺️❤️
